OUR STORY
From the very beginning, Thump has been guided by a fundamental desire to create both a better cup of coffee and a better experience for the people who drink it.
The desire to marry together these seemingly disparate and unrelated philosophies came from the recognition that it was desperately needed in our industry. We saw that the coffee industry lacked providers who were passionate about both sides: not just the cup, but the cup and the human being hoping to be moved by it.
Over time, we’ve developed a strong reputation for the quality of our craft.
We want everything we make, everything we provide to our people, to be worth more than what they pay for it. Not simply because of our care for craft, but because of our care for them. Don’t miss what we are saying - we believe in our work, and we believe in perfecting our product. If we’re not striving to be the best - we don’t want to play the game. But why do we play the game? We play it for our people. Our craft is not the most important thing in our world: our people are.
We know coffee is just a beverage. Even so, we believe to our core that it is capable of amazing things.
We’ve seen firsthand how one cup can change the life of the one who drinks it.
Our People
Andy
Andy has been a part of the Thump team since 2014, and is our General Manager, in charge of coffee for our Denver locations. Andy’s love for both the craft of making coffee and the art of caring for all who come through our doors makes him a fantastic leader for our crew. He oversees training and quality control and loves to talk/teach people about coffee.
Liz
Liz has been working for Thump since 2016 and manages the Downtown location in Bend, Oregon. She lives out Thump’s mission every day by making everyone who walks through the cafe doors feel welcome and at home. Her smile is contagious and the drinks she makes are flawless. The dedication and support she gives to her team, and those around her is exceptional. Outside of Thump, Liz is a stained glass artist, dog mom, and small business owner. She’s darn good at having a lot on her plate and juggling it all with poise.
John
Meet John, the Manager at our cafe on York Drive and our Head of Operations. John and his wife moved to Bend from Michigan and have lived here since 2021. He loves adventure, hiking, and going on walks with his wife and dog. John's mission in life is to serve his community and love people well. He is a true representation of the values we hold here at Thump!
Mike
Mike is the Bakery Manager at Thump Coffee in Denver, Colorado. He’s been with the company since September of 2016, and has brought new and exciting creations to Cap Hill ever since. When he’s not in the bakery, he escapes to the mountains as often as possible to snowboard, hike, camp, and just generally get outside.
Ama
Meet Ama, our manager at the Grove! Ama has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and a deep understanding of our operations. Ama's passion for excellence and her commitment to creating a positive work environment have significantly contributed to the success of our Grove location.
Coco
Meet Coco, our Head Roaster at Thump Coffee! Coco was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and raised in Baja. He moved to Bend in 2022 with his amazing wife and two daughters and we were lucky enough to have Coco join our team! He loves soccer and motorcycles, he’s an amazing cook and makes great cocktails too. He goes above and beyond with everything he does and his family is the most important thing in his life. We are genuinely grateful for Coco and the quality of his craft at Thump Coffee.
Adam
Meet Adam, our Bakery Manager at Thump Coffee in Bend, Oregon. Adam gives 100 percent to everything he does and has a deep desire to learn and be the best and what he does. If you’ve had our creations from our bakery, you will see that this is true. When Adam isn’t in the bakery, he enjoys fly fishing, mountain biking, film photography and working on his jeep. He also loves spending time with his two dogs, Bodhi and Waylon.
